Why I Became a Foster Parent

Children need a safe place they can call home.

And families need strong support too. StepStone Family & Youth Services of Kentucky supports young people in need of alternative, safer living environments.

At Benchmark Family Services, most of the youth we serve are adolescents who require more intensive support and therapeutic foster care. 

We believe that by placing them in the care of the right foster family, significant progress can be made as they are surrounded by love, attention, and stability.  

Childplace is a licensed child-placing agency in Jeffersonville, Indiana.

We license and support foster families across Southern Indiana, working alongside the Indiana Department of Child Services to place children who have been removed from their homes.

Harbor Families, Foster Care, Families Count™, and Heritage Builders are all Lifeline ministries that equip families and the local church to provide support and education to families who have experienced foster care or are at risk of separation.

At Necco our main mission is to create and celebrate families of every walk of life, and to support them on their journey.

In addition to the wealth of information you'll receive on becoming a foster parent, Necco also provides a 24-hour crisis hotline, licensed staff to help you at any time and the highest level of care to our children and families.

Taking the first step toward becoming a foster family might feel overwhelming, but we are here to help you every step of the way.

We will walk alongside you, equipping you with the knowledge and support to care for vulnerable children who need you.

Operations Open Arms works with our community to reduce the impact on our children and support women upon reentry.

We provide three programs: Incarceration Support, Recovery Support, & Short-Term Foster Care.

The Therapeutic Foster Care and Adoption program serves children who have been referred by the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services.

These children were removed from their families because of abuse, neglect, or abandonment.

Uspiritus is the largest and most comprehensive care agency for at-risk and foster children and their families in Kentucky. Uspiritus will serve, heal and educate approximately 1,200 children annually with two residential campuses in Louisville and regional offices in Bowling Green, Lexington, Louisville, Owensboro and Paducah.
